From the East
Greetings Brethren and Ladies,
Welcome to February everyone. Unfortunately, we are still barred from meeting with each other at this time. The vaccine is here and hopefully it will start to tamp down COVID and we can get back to normal. Let us all hope and pray it happens sooner rather than later.
The budget has been sent out to everyone for this year for you to see. It is barebones because we are unable to meet or do anything as a Masonic group. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me, or come to the February Stated Zoom Meeting. We will be discussing and voting on it then. The link for the meeting will be sent out soon.
During this time, our honored ladies are needing extra help. We are in need of people to assist in driving to appointments and other help. If you have time and are willing to help and adhere to proper COVID precautions, please let one of the officers know. We all must come together during this time to take care of each other.
Valentine’s Day is this month. Take some time to stay close to your loved one and enjoy a meal or a movie with them.
Take care and stay safe,
Ken Bychak - Worshipful Master

2021 is here and already passing so fast. As we turn our focus to February, there may actually be a light at the end of the tunnel. Immunizations are underway and surely this “herd immunity” will start to take hold soon. Hopefully, we will be able to see each other, in-person, in the foreseeable future. We have had a few brothers, their ladies, and family members infected with this terrible virus, and so far, we have been blessed (send a prayer to heaven) that no one has fallen to this dreaded affliction. Let us send an extra prayer to heaven for those who have tested positive. Pray for their speedy and lasting recovery and ask him to protect us all.
Psalm 91:1-16 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, ...
With any luck, we soon be able to pick up our tools and continue our Masonic work. Here’s just a couple of things on the list:
We have started working, individually, to get ensure we have a qualified line for the 2022 Masonic year.
With the sale of the Main Street building, we have turned the corner and Santa Maria Lodge should be healthy, financially, for years to come.
We will endeavor to continue the restoration of our beloved Lodge building.
Once released from the Grand Lodge, the Worshipful Master has a number of community efforts he would like to implement this year.
Lastly, I know meeting via “Zoom” is not the same and shaking a brother’s hand in lodge. However, please do join us for our stated meetings. Once we have conducted our business, there is a chance to enjoy each other’s fellowship and catch up with one another. If you have not updated your email and are not receiving the notifications, please reach out to the Worshipful Master or an officer to register to receive the email notifications.
If you know of someone in distress or in need, please contact me or an officer for assistance.
Fraternally,
Your Senior Warden.

This past year has surely been an odd one full or many trials and tribulations that have tested each and every one of us in some way or another, but we have made it to 2021. A new year full of new hopes and dreams to be strived for.
As we move forward into this frontier of new challenges, remember to keep your heads high and with one foot in front of the other. Experience everything this year has to offer as if it were new, let not the weights of last years hardships weigh you down, use the lessons you have learned to overcome any new challenges that arise along your path.
Welcome to 2021 brothers, lets make it a good one.
Fraternally,
Chase Murray
Junior Warden
Happy New Year!!
Welcome to February. Dues are starting to come in, but we still have many brothers that have not made their payments yet. The dues for 2021 are $116.00. Per our By-Laws, the calculation is $60.00 + per capita rounded up to the nearest dollar. Per capita is $55.25 this year, which gives us our total of $116.00.
This is also your time to catch up on last year dues if you have not paid. If you are 2 or more years in arrears, you may be suspended for non-payment of dues as per the California Masonic Code, Section 809.370. Suspension for Non Payment of Dues. Neither the Master, I, nor any other Brother in Lodge wishes this to happen!
