From the East
Brethren,
Welcome to November Brethren. Well Fall is here, Thanksgiving is just a couple of weeks away, Christmas is right around the corner, and before you know it’s 2024!
I deeply appreciate the officers and members of Santa Maria this year. Specifically, for their support in affording Catheren and I the opportunity to get away for our 3-month RV trip. It truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Our adventure, encompassed 8,600 miles, across (19) states and (2) Canadian Provinces. Our adventure included: Motorhome, Train, Plane, Bus, horse drawn wagon, and our trusty jeep. Every day was something new. Lifelong friends were met, a vast array of wildlife was seen, Museums visited, cities & small towns experienced, ghost towns, monuments, and miles and miles and miles of corn & soy beans. Our nation is one to see. I understand the draw to adventure outside our borders, but there is so much to appreciate right here in the “good ‘ole US of A”.
As my time as Master of Santa Maria Lodge is winding down, it is truly hard to believe two years have passed. We have experienced some great successes the last couple of years, from membership, to renovations and beautification of the building. I will cherish these last couple of years and look forward to being a continued part of the future of our Lodge.
Have a “Happy Thanksgiving”.
Dave Murray, PM - Master

Dear Brethren, Ladies, Families, and friends.
The end of this Masonic year is rapidly approaching, this stated meeting elections will be held for next year's line of officers, I hope you plan to attend and cast your vote. While you are at it come to the stated meeting traditional Thanksgiving dinner which will be provided by Ranch Catering. The menu will be: Roast Turkey and Gravy, Honey Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole, Ambrosia Salad, Rolls and Butter with Pumpkin Pie. Sounds like a good feast. We will provide to-go boxes for leftovers.
As we ponder on all the blessings that our God has blessed us with we NEED to give thanks to Him and to pray for his chosen ones in Israel, let us all pray for peace
Don Ruch, PM - Junior Warden
Secretary’s Corner
Welcome to November.
I am working to prepare the Dues Notices for 2024. Remember, if you send a payment in and are in arrears, that payment will go to the past due amount. You will still need to come back to good standing for the current year to receive your Dues Card. Please contact the Master or myself to discuss this if you have any questions.
Sadly, there are still 21 Brothers that are in arrears. Remember, you have an obligation to pay your dues. If you have not made your payment, you are overdue. The dues for 2023 are $121.00. Per our By-Laws, the calculation is $60.00 + per capita rounded up to the nearest dollar. Per capita is $60.25 this year, which gives us our total of $121.00. Per Capita is due to the Grand Lodge and your lack of payment affects the Lodge’s abilities to make its financial commitments.
If you are in arrears for your dues, you need to pay all that is owed to be brought back in to good standing. As an example, if you pay for 2023 only, and owe for 2022, I cannot send you your 2023 dues card. You are still in arrears and will need to bring your dues up to date first. Please contact the Master or myself to discuss this if you have any questions.
Please go to member.freemason.org and check out your personal information. Ensure that your email, mailing address, phone number etc are correct. This is how the Lodge and the Grand Lodge contact you. It is important that this information be up to date. If you have trouble doing this, please contact me and I will assist you. Maintaining your contact information ensures that you will receive all notices that the Lodge and the Grand Lodge sends out in a timely manner. Please go check it out!
If you are financially unable to pay your dues, please contact the Master to discuss.
If you have lost your envelope, you can mail your dues to:
Santa Maria Lodge No. 580,
PO Box 68, Ramona, CA 92065
You can also go to our website, http://www.santamaria580.org, and pay online. If you have paid and have not received your card in a reasonable amount of time, please contact me at 951-970-4294 or secretary@santamaria580.org and I will take care of it.
