From the East
Brethren and Ladies,
I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. We have been staying isolated and have been keeping after from people the better part of this year! I hope and pray that there will be a vaccine for the disease and an end to these trying times.
We are starting to enter the holiday seasons and hopefully an end to all this heat! I for one am looking forward to cooler days and nights. As of now, the Grand Master has not change on us meeting or having any gatherings. We do not know what the future will bring us in terms of elections or the installation for the coming year. When we hear anything, we will pass it on.
The monthly Zoom meetings are going well. It is nice to see all those smiling faces and to talk to everyone, even if it is just for a few minutes. Please come join if you are able.
Worshipful Tom Handel, our Inspector for the 911th District, is stepping down this year. As of the Annual Communications on October 11th, Worshipful Gabe Borboa of Fallbrook Lodge 317 will be our new inspector. Please congratulate him if you see him on a Zoom or other meeting.
Please stay safe and let us know if anyone needs anything.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Ken Bychak - Worshipful Master
From The West
Brethren,
With the passing of a number of our Brothers, Family, Neighbors and Friends, I feel compelled to offer this.
Nothing in life can prepare us for the death of a loved one. Whether death comes from an accident or a sustained illness, it always catches us off-guard. Death is so deeply personal and strikingly final, nothing can emotionally prepare us for its arrival. With every death, there is loss, and with every loss, there is grief.
Grief doesn’t come and go in an orderly, confined timeframe. Just when we think the pangs of anguish have passed, another wave sweeps in and we are forced to revisit the memories, pain and sometimes fear. We may try to resist the demands of grieving. We fight against the rush of emotions, terrified of being overwhelmed, or of becoming lost in the sheer immenseness of the loss.
Society tells us to process our grief quickly – move on – time heals all wounds. Take a few days or weeks perhaps, to grieve, but move on. Grieving can make those around us uncomfortable. Friends sometimes don’t know what to do with your pain. Loved ones struggle to find adequate words to comfort our aching. Grief is yours and no one else’s. It can only be handled at YOUR pace, in your own way.
Yet, grief as painful an experience as it is, is a necessary part of our healing. To ignore grief is to run from the very thing that can quell the pain of our loss.
Grieving can be the most difficult time for people. Give yourself space and time, be honest with your emotions, don't grieve alone, and don't lose faith that our loved ones are truly in a better place, and walking the streets of an everlasting life.
John 16:22 - So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
Revelation 21:4 - ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Fraternally,
Your Senior Warden.

From the South
Greetings Brethren and Ladies,
As we STILL continue to deal with the pandemic, please do your best to keep yourself and your families safe. With the opening, closing, re-opening, re-closing, and re-re-opening of certain aspects of the country, which has affected some of our local businesses, do not take these events as “everything is back to normal.” Please continue practicing social distancing where able, as well as washing of hands to assist in combating the virus spread.
Fraternally,
Chase Murray, Junior Warden
My deepest condolences to the Brother Tom Mountain on the passing of his wife. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
We are starting to open up again as a society, but per the Grand Lodge we still can not meet in person. The Worshipful Master has set up Zoom virtual meetings and they have been fun! It is good to chat with our Brothers even if we cannot meet in person. All Brothers are encouraged to join us.
If any Brother needs help, please contact the Master, one of the Pillars or me. We will do our best to help you or refer you to a service that can help. Even as we continue to Social Distance from each other, remember, we are one family and it is our duty to help one another!
Even with the restrictions on meeting, we still need to work on our qualifications. If you are in line, or are hoping to get in line, please continue to work on your next level of qualification. I can meet you one on one, maintain social distance and work with you as needed.
The Grand Lodge has rolled out iMember 2.0. Please go check it out at member.freemason.org there are many things you can do there such as changing your address, changing your personal information, locate lodges, find resources and documents.
We are almost through 2020. We have paid our Per Capita invoice for the year. We currently have 23 Brothers who have not paid their dues. The Lodge has picked up their fees and covered their responsibilities. This is not fair to the Brothers that have paid their dues for 2020. You can still pay for the year and catch up!
If you are financially unable to pay your dues, please contact the Master to discuss.
Please remit a check in the envelope provided with your dues notice. If you have lost your envelope, you can mail your dues to:
Santa Maria Lodge No. 580 PO Box 68, Ramona, CA 92065
You can also go to our website, http://www.santamaria580.org, and pay online. You can make payments for 2018, 2019 and 2020 there. If you have paid and have not received your card in a reasonable amount of time, please contact me at 951-970-4294 or e-mail me at secretary@santamaria580.org and I will take care of it.
