From the East
Greetings Brethren and Ladies,
Last month we had a great time at two events! We went out to the Poway Performing Arts Center and saw the Catapult Dance Troop. It was really amazing to see what they can do! Thank you Cath for spearheading that for us! We also had an excellent Progressive Dinner where we had appetizers at Dave and Caths, entrée at Don and Vickis, and desserts at Bob and Brendas. If you missed it, you really missed a good one!
Dave has been doing a bang-up job on working to get our lodge back into shape. We have a lot of projects going on right now like the floor, walls, and ceiling of the downstairs dining room and new lights for it! We hope to be back downstairs for our December Stated Meeting. A HUGE shout out for all his help and dedication to the lodge!
We are working very hard on getting everyone qualified for the coming year and have the inspector coming us to assist us with the qualifications. We also have a good number of new prospects and a few that have already turned in their applications! Come to the stated meeting to meet them!
We are having Elections at our November Stated Meeting. Dress will be coat and tie. Also, DO NOT FORGET YOUR DUES CARD! We will be checking at the door for everyone before you come into the lodge.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and I look forward to seeing you all soon!

From The West
As we continue to move forward from the past couple of years, things are looking good for Santa Maria Lodge. Since coming back together, we’ve had some great fellowship at our Friday nights out on the town, some great outings for local events and dinners, and next years officers are working hard with their qualifications to continue our excellence in ritual.
Looking forward, we have a number of great new friends who have shown interest in joining Masonry, and expect next year to continue our growth and renewal of our membership.
As reported in the past, we have made great strides in the renovation of our beloved lodge building. I would encourage anyone who hasn’t been to lodge in a while to please try to make a stated meeting. The upstairs has had significant renovations. But, we’re ready to move into a next phase. Potential removal of the drop ceiling in the lodge, back to the original height, a new Master’s office and updated kitchen are in the plans. Downstairs has really seen some change. The main room is close to finished and will make a great venue for Stated Meeting Dinners, special occasions, and a potential event center for outside rentals. As we move to the old “KTM” garage, we envision an additional kitchen to support those events, added storage, and updated lights and flooring. All this comes with a completely new roof, new HVAC, new flooring and new exterior doors. We’re also replacing the old wiring, sub-panels, etc… The goal here is to give Santa Maria Lodge a safe and secure home for another 100 years.

This month for our Stated Meeting, we will again be having dinner up stairs while SMMBA continues renovations in the downstairs dining area. Our goal, which is feasible, is to be back to having dinner in our downstairs dining room once again beginning with the December Stated Meeting.
Dinner this month is provided courtesy of Brother Dave Murray and Catheren Murray, and will consist of a traditional Thanksgiving spread. As a reminder, the suggested donation for dinners moving forward is now $10.00.
Everyone have a wonderful month of November and I’ll see you at the Stated Meeting!
Chase Murray - Junior Warden (Elect)
