From the East
Greetings Brethren and Ladies,
December is here and we are wrapping up another year! It is hard to believe another one has just flown by! COVID is receding a bit now and we are finally getting back together. It feels like we are almost normal again! It is a good feeling.
I would like to give a huge congratulations to our incoming Master Elect, Dave Murray and his line of officers. I know he will be a great Master and will continue the values of Masonry that we all feel are important to our lodge. Installation will be on December 11th, at 11:00am in the morning.
Side note to that. Our December Stated Meeting has been moved up a week to December 6th. Please make sure you come on the correct day, or no one will be here and you will miss the fellowship and a great meal we have in store! Also, our meal will be held on the first-floor dining area that has been recently renovated. Come check out all the work that has been done!
These past two years have been very crazy and no one expected COVID to come out of no where and shake up the world like it did. We did the best we could and I feel we are coming out of it in a pretty good position. We have a good line of officers, amazing renovations happening on our building, and a bunch of new prospects very interested in the lodge! I want to thank you all for putting your trust in me to guide us through these turbulent years as Master of the Lodge.
Ken Bychak II - Worshipful Master
From The West
I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your families. And, safe travels to those who will be traveling over the holidays.
I would also like to thank the brethren for the honor of being elected to serve as Master of Santa Maria Lodge for the 2022 Masonic year, as it is a great honor to be entrusted with the care of an almost 100 year legacy.
We will have several events scheduled throughout the coming year that I encourage the brethren to attend if possible, ranging from camp outs to crawfish boils.
First on the calendar is our “East Coast” - White Elephant Christmas/New Years eve celebration. This will be a potluck; white elephant gift exchange (not to exceed $25.00). We start at 6:00PM and start wrapping up around 9:30PM for those who want to be the New Year’s revelers home. We will be celebrating in our new dining room downstairs. I hope to see you all there.
I would also like to thank and congratulate Worshipful Ken Bychak for his work as Master of Santa Maria Lodge these last two years. With the onset of COVID his task to keep things going was definitely not an easy one. My hat’s off to you Worshipful for your diligence and job well done.
“May you be filled with the wonder of Mary, the obedience of Joseph, the joy of the angels, the eagerness of the shepherds, the determination of the magi, and the peace of the Christ child. Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit bless you now and forever.”
Dave Murray - Senior Warden
From the South
It’s hard to believe that we are already wrapping up 2021, sometimes it still feels like we should be gearing up for the Summer season but here we are.
Our Stated Meeting dinner this month will again be held in the downstairs dining room thanks to the tireless work of Brother Dave Murray in coordinating the revitalization project downstairs.
Our meal this month will be a traditional holiday spread of pot roast and roast turkey with gravy, sweet cream mashed potatoes, green beans and butternut squash, winter white salad, rolls, and a selection of pies for desert. As a reminder, the suggested donation for dinner will be $10.
Chase Murray - Junior Warden
Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Winter Solstice or any other holiday you may celebrate! Congratulations to our 2022 Line of Officers! Thank you for your hard work qualifying and all the time you commit to the Lodge. We could not continue without the support of these Brothers. I would also like to thank the Brothers for giving me the opportunity to continue serving as Secretary. I enjoy working with all of you and look forward to another great year.
By the time you read this, you should have already received your Dues Invoice. The dues for 2022 are $118.00. Per our By-Laws, the calculation is $60.00 + per capita rounded up to the nearest dollar. Per capita is $57.25 this year, which gives us our total of $118.00. This is also your time to catch up on last year dues if you have not paid. If you are 2 or more years in arrears, you may be suspended for non-payment of dues as per the California Masonic Code, Section 809.370. Suspension for Non Payment of Dues. Neither the Master, I, nor any other Brother in Lodge wishes this to happen!
